So, Mr. P and I have decided that our major gift to eachother this Christmas is going to be the fabulous Canon Rebel or something similar. We have been talking about purchasing a really great camera for a long time and now is the time to make it happen! We both want to take a photography class and be able to take our own, really great photos so we need a fabulous camera to be able to do it with! Here's where we need a little help. I know a lot of you have great cameras that you're able to get great quality photos and great color and details with. So, what camera do you use? What kinds of things can you do with it? What advice do you have for us in making this purchase?

We have a Canon Powershot A620, and the best part about it is the screen flips out and around, so we can take pictures of ourselves and they actually turn out!
I do love the Nikon D90 I got for my birthday! What a fantastic gift to be planning!!
i have a canon rebel xs. i've had it about a year. i love it!!! i bought it as a kit. if i were to do over, i'd just buy the camera body and invest in better lens. the lens is what gives you the "magic" anyway. my fave lens is the 1.8 lens, which is about $108. It's awesome! I use it 98% of the time.
Aww the boyfriend and I were thinking about getting a Nikon D3000 for Christmas, too !
